Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is an auditioned concert band at GHS. These students work on upper level high school music and some collegiate literature. Students in the ensemble are expected to work on and audition for the Region Honor Band and Solo and Ensemble literature. This ensemble rehearses every day during 1st period and on Monday Nights from 4:00 - 5:30.

​Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is an auditioned concert band at GHS. These students work on high school level music. Students in the ensemble are encouraged to work on music for the Region Concert Bands and Solo and Ensemble Literature. This ensemble rehearses every day during 1st period.

All-Region and All-State

All-Region is a process that allows students to perform with the best band members in a region. Students must audition with a series of difficult etudes and scales to make one of the region bands. The top students will then advance to Area which gives them an opportunity to audition for the All-State band. These students are the best of the best and perform every year at the TMEA convention in San Antonio. This year we had nine students make the All-Region bands including two who advance on to Area.

The All-Region clinic and concert will be held at Kennedale High School January 19th and 20th.
